Top of the list has to be the Rock of Aphrodite, which has the added bonus of being situated on one of the island's most picturesque beaches. According to legend, this rock at the end of the cliff is where Aphrodite rose out of the water and came to Cyprus. Whether you believe this or not, it's still a beautiful place to spend a day with your loved one.

Another wonderful day trip is to the Baths of Aphrodite, which are located to the north of Paphos. This series of natural pools is allegedly where the goddess used to bathe and is even where she first met Adonis, who stopped to take a drink in the pools and instantly fell in love with Aphrodite when he saw her.
 

Explore Cyprus's nature together

To really feel as though you're escaping from the stresses and strains of everyday life, you may want to head to some of Cyprus's unspoilt natural areas. Among the top spots for a peaceful day by the coast is the Akamas Peninsula - a beautiful region where you'll find secluded and empty bays, rolling hills and hidden coves where you can enjoy some time alone together.

This is also a great place for active couples to visit, as there are excellent hiking trails throughout the peninsula in case you want to stretch your legs and do a bit of exploring.

Hitting the beach is another great option for a relaxing day out. Whether you're based in Limassol or Paphos, you'll have stunning sandy bays on your hotel's doorstep and can look forward to soaking up a bit of the Cypriot sun without having to go far. If you get too warm, take a dip in the inviting Mediterranean Sea, or go snorkelling to discover what lives along the coastline of this delightful island.
